Final day at project
On tuesday we had our last day at Umang school (now spelt correctly) having painted a classroom on sunday we have spent two days playing with the children and completing a classroom display partition which would look more at home on the site of heartbeat as it is a 1950's/60s hospital frame partition on wheels. The head wanted us to create a learning aid about water as this is the school theme for the year because Jaipur has such problems with water. We created a water cycle with words and symbols on velcro that could be moved about, it looked great with Donna's sparkling sunshine, Rhian's decorated arrows with string so that children with sight impairments could feel it and with the amazing (had to be seen to be believed) cloud that Alex created the final product looked great. Tuesday was also press day! Our contact from the round table who sponsors the school saw us being as an opportunity to create some publicity for the school, so Ally and Lauren did a TV press interview and Alex did a radio interview, others simply avoided it! It went very well, to say thanks the head gave each school a wall haning made by the children. The project ended on a high and we left knowing we had done our best and left a water cycle mark!
