Admissions for Year 7 Entry September 2026

We are delighted that you are considering Hatton Academy for your child’s secondary education. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about the admissions process, key dates, and upcoming events.

📅 Key Dates for Year 7 Entry (September 2026)

  • Supplementary Information Form (ICT Aptitude Test):
    Deadline – Thursday 2nd October 2025 (4.00pm)

  • Open Week Tours:
    Monday 29th September – Thursday 16th October 2025
    Bookings open Monday 22nd September 2025

  • Year 6 Information Evenings:
    Monday 6th October & Tuesday 7th October 2025

  • Application Deadline:
    Thursday 31st October 2025 (midnight)

  1. Read our Admissions Policy

  2. Complete your application
    Applications must be submitted to North Northamptonshire Council by Thursday 31st October 2025 (midnight).

  3. ICT Aptitude Test (optional)
    If your child wishes to take the test, you must complete the Supplementary Information Form by Thursday 2nd October 2025 (4.00pm).

  4. Prepare
    You can view a Sample ICT Aptitude Paper to give your child an idea of the paper structure.

Year 6 Information Evenings

Join our Co-Principals for a presentation about the Academy and the admissions process.

  • Dates: Monday 6th October & Tuesday 7th October 2025

  • Venue: Academy Auditorium (seated event – tickets required for all attendees)

Year 7 September 2026 Appeals Information

Information about allocated Year 7 school places for September 2026 will be sent out by the local authority on Monday 2nd March 2026.

If you have not been allocated a place at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy at this time, you have the right to appeal against the decision.

Deadline for lodging an appeal – Closed

The deadline for submitting an on-time appeal was Friday 24 April 2026. Additional evidence must be submitted by Friday 22nd May. Please note that the panel may not be prepared to accept any additional evidence that is submitted after this date. Additional evidence can be emailed to admissions@hattonacademy.org.uk.

Late Appeals

Late appeals are now being accepted by the following link.  Please refer to the Guidance Notes for Parents before completing the link.

The Appeals Administrator will contact you to confirm the date and time of your appeal.

Please do not submit multiple forms as this may delay your appeal.

Appeals made after the 24th April deadline are at risk of not being heard before the start of the September term. Hearings will be subject to when the late appeal was made.
