Students learn about culture in Spanish and German speaking countries, which develops their tolerance of others whose beliefs and lifestyles may vary from their own. They are expected to show a mutual respect of each other in each lessons as well as of the cultures and nationalities that we celebrate through our MFL curriculum. In languages it is very important that students show an understanding of each other and everyone’s right to their own individuality.

Our A-level curriculum covers a vast array of units including crime and social problems, a history of the target countries and the development of politics in these countries over the last 100 years. This ranges from dictatorship (Nazi Germany) to political corruptness in Latin America, to nationalism in Spain. Through this, we demonstrate the British value of democracy and rule of law.
