Key Stage 3:

Development of ICT skills. Skills required include Word Processing, Web Authoring, Databases, Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Evaluating Sources, Web Browsing and E-mail communication Software.

Key Stage 4

ICT follows the OCR National course in Year 10, allowing students to develop and implement their ICT skills within a real world scenairo. The course has many units allowing the students to achieve multiple qualifications. It is offered as an option along with the core 1 hour a week course. High aptitude students have the opportunity to study the DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) which is widely considered one of the hardest courses at KS4 Students also have the opportunity to study BTEC Business as an option subject. This is the equilvalent of 4 GCSEs.

Key Stage 5

Business studies looks at different types of organisations that exist in various business sectors and environments. It will identify and investigate different internal and external business problems and behaviour. Computing aims to provide students with a practical and theoretical look at the issues involved within the world of IT and computing. Students investigate a number topics concerning how hardware and software work and are used. This course also provides students with the opportunity to learn several programming languages. ICT aims to provide students with an understanding of the nature and context of information and how organisations manipulate and manage information using a variety of different software and hardware applications.
