Key Stage 3:

 At Key stage students follow an agreen syllabus with Northamptonshire. This includes learning about religion and from religion. The students study the following topics: Year 7 - Life of Jesus, Judaism Year 8 - Christian ways of life, Hinduism Year 9 - Sikhism, Origins purpose and destiny. 

Expected Range of Levels

Year 7: 3,6

Year 8: 4,7

Year 9: 5,8+

 

Key Stage 4

At key stage 4 RE is a core subject and students follow a GCSE Short course (Edexcel). This course enables students to learn about religon through five study areas: Beliving in God Marriage and Family Life Social Harmony Life after death Religon and Media Studnets in year 11 who chose the 'full course' option study additonal topics which incude: Religon and the environment Students in year 10 who chose the 'full course' option study a differnt GCSE course (OCR) which is called Philosophy and Ethics. It encompases all aspects of the short course and includes additional study areas: 

Qualifications sat at Key Stage 4

At key stage 4 students in the current year 11 will sit the short course GCSE in one single exam at the end of the course. This exam is a 2 hour exam and accounts for 100% of the course. The students which have selected the full course will sit the same exam as short course studnets. They will also sit an additonal exam to complete course.

 

Key Stage 5

At Key stage 5 students study a course called 'Philosophy and Ethics'. This course is ideal for studnets who are intrigued by the 'big questions' in life. 

Qualifications sat at Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form)

At key stage 5 the students in the current year 13 studying A2 (Edexcel) will complete the course at the end of year 13 with 2 exams. The students who are currentlt taking AS (Edexcel) will sit 2 exams at the end of year 12. This will account for 100% of the AS course. At A2 there are 2 further exams which are at the end of the course.

Revision sessions are advertised when available 

Enrichment Activities

Enrichment is offered to year 12 studnets who are currently resiting some of their GCSEs, or who want to comlete the short course GCSE to fullcourse.
