Using The Library
THE LIBRARY IS OPEN all day.
You will need a slip from your teacher if you want to come in during a lesson.
BORROWING BOOKS
Yrs 7,8 & 9 may borrow - 3 books for 2 weeks .
Yrs 10 & 11 - 4 books for 3 weeks
Yrs 12 & 13 - 6 books for 3 weeks
Books may be renewed , but you will need to bring the book to the library to do this.
Please return books on time as another person may be waiting for them.
DVDs & Audio Books
You can borrow 1 DVD or Audio Book for 1 week. If you return a DVD or Audio Book late you will be charged a fine of 10p per day.
LOST AND DAMAGED RESOURCES
You will have to pay for items you have lost, or which have been damaged while on loan to you. You are responsible for any items you borrow, take care of them and do not lend them to other people.
COMPUTERS
There are 10 networked computers, they are for school-work only. You can book them in advance for use at lunchtime - ask at the counter.
READING GROUP
Our school Reading Group meets once a month in the library. If you enjoy reading come and join us, see posters in the library for more details.
HELP!
If you can’t find something in the library, or need help choosing, please ask the Library staff.
LIBRARY ASSISTANTS
We have a team of students who work in the library, helping us at busy times, putting resources away, assisting students, helping with displays and issuing and returning resources. These posts are open to all students, we recruit each October from Years 7 & 8 but any student interested in becoming a Library Assistant can speak to the Librarian at any time.
A few things to note
Bags & Coats must be left outside the Library in the racks (6th Form may bring in bags)
Mobile phones must be on silent & not used for calls
No food, drink or gum are allowed in the library
Put books back in the right place on the shelf ,or on the trolley ,after use
Try to talk quietly, there will be people working
You are responsible for any items you borrow
