The National Association for More Able Children in Education (NACE) has named Sir Christopher Hatton the 17th school to be accredited with the NACE Challenge Award for the third time.  The award is given in recognition of school-wide commitment to high-quality provision for more-able learners, within the context of challenge for all.

NACE CEO Sue Riley said: 'Sir Christopher Hatton Academy has worked hard to attain reaccreditation through the NACE Challenge Award.  It has shown itself to be committed to sustaining an environment in which all learners are challenged and supported to be the best they can be, with effective strategies in place to ensure continued improvement in this field.'

The award is based on the NACE Challenge Framework, which sets out criteria for high-quality provision for more able learners within a wider ethos of challenge for all.

To maintain the accreditation, Alex Waterfall our More Able Co-Ordinator produced a portfolio of supportive evidence and a detailed self-evaluation.  The assessment included examination of school data and key documents, lesson observations and interviews with school leaders, students and parents.

Mr Mitchell and Mr Salisbury - Sir Christopher Hatton Co-Principals said ' This recognition is a testament to the whole school commitment and achievement in providing effective challenge and support for all across;  the curriculum, teaching and learning, the process for identification and tracking, extracurricular opportunities, strong communication and partnerships alongside continued ongoing evaluation.  We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Alex Waterfall for her efforts and contribution towards the reaccreditation.'
