Careers Polices, Evaluation and Destinations

Sir Christopher Hatton Academy regularly reviews and evaluates the impact of its careers programme to ensure it continues to meet the needs of students and reflects local and national employment opportunities.

We evaluate our careers provision through a range of measures including:

  • Compass+ self-evaluation against the Gatsby Benchmarks
  • Student voice surveys following careers events and activities
  • Employer and provider feedback from careers days and employer encounters
  • Destination data tracking students’ progression after Year 11 and Sixth Form
  • Regular review of our careers programme as part of the academy’s strategic planning

This evaluation helps ensure that our careers programme continues to provide meaningful experiences, relevant guidance and strong preparation for students’ future pathways.

 

Careers Policy

Our Careers Policy outlines the academy’s approach to delivering Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) across all year groups.

Provider Access Policy

In line with Provider Access Legislation, schools must ensure that students have opportunities to hear from providers of technical education and apprenticeships.

Gatsby Benchmark Evaluation

Sir Christopher Hatton Academy uses the Compass+ evaluation tool provided by the Careers & Enterprise Company to assess the quality of our careers programme against the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance.

This evaluation helps us:

  • Review the effectiveness of our careers programme
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure all students have access to meaningful careers experiences

Destination Data

Each year the Academy reviews student destination data to understand the pathways students take after leaving Sir Christopher Hatton Academy.

This data includes:

  • post-16 destinations after Year 11
  • post-18 destinations after Sixth Form
  • progression into further education, employment or apprenticeships

This information helps us evaluate the impact of our careers programme and ensure students are well prepared for their next steps.
